Kevin Patrick Collins, 61, of Mooresville, N.C., a beloved brother, son and friend, passed away August 15, 2024, after suffering a traumatic brain injury.

Kevin is survived by his father, Patrick M Collins (Bonnie); and his sisters, Melanie Jones (Brad), Kelly Macaluso (Daryl Palubiak) and Paige Rideout (Matt). Kevin loved his family and his many friends. But as anyone who knows Kevin knows – the love of his life was his cat Binky (who has her own TikTok page)!

Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Kevin lived in North Carolina, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania while growing up. He was educated at the prestigious Valley Forge Military Academy and then attended Principia College in Elsah, Ill. After college, Kevin enlisted in the United States Air Force and was medically retired due to a brain tumor a few years later. While he could no longer serve, Kevin became a lifelong supporter of our military and was very proud to be a veteran. Kevin loved serving others and was a volunteer firefighter in both Colorado and North Carolina, and he was a proud member of the North Carolina Patriot Guard for several years.

Kevin lived a life filled with passion and adventure. He pursued his dreams as a motorcycle enthusiast, houseboat owner, operator and party host, skilled pilot, crane operator, and entrepreneur. His artistic endeavors include the antique and art stores he had in Indian Trail and Charlotte, N.C., and more recently creating artisanal soy candles, which he sold at local shops with his business Three Bees Candle and Bath.

Above all, Kevin found his greatest joy in the company of his family and friends. His kindness, generosity, and warm spirit had a lasting impact on all who knew him.
