Lillian Mae Head Clanton, 87, of Statesville, N.C., died Saturday, June 29, 2024, after an extended illness.
She was born in Alexander County on October 24, 1936, to the late Eugene Head and Alta Mae Davis Head. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ronald L. Clanton; and a sister, Loualta Stone.
Lillian was a 1954 graduate of Scotts High School. She was formerly a member of Pisgah Methodist Church and was currently a member of Rose Chapel Methodist Church. Lillian worked for Jantzen for 35 years, Iredell Memorial Hospital as a pharmacy tech for 10 years and the Board of Elections for 20 years. She loved animals and people, and never met a stranger.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Lewis Clanton (Timmaree) and Kevin Clanton (Tanya); a granddaughter, Stephanie Renee Clanton; and two brothers, Emmett Head (Jane) and Kenneth Head.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, July 7, 2024, at 3 p.m. at Rose Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Camp officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 2 to 3 p.m. at Rose Chapel prior to the service.
