Linda Claire Krafft, 80, of Mooresville, N.C., and formerly of Forked River, N.J., peacefully went to be with our Lord and Savior Tuesday, August 20, 2024, in the comfort of her home. She was born November 30,1943, in Matawan, N.J., to the late John William Lockwood Jr. and Claire Mae Griffiths Lockwood.
Outgoing by nature, Linda never met a stranger. Whoever knew her loved her. She had many jobs and duties over the years, including delivering eggs with her grandfather, owning her own florist, driving a school bus, cake decorator and was even the first female volunteer firefighter in New Jersey at Freneu Fire Department.
Most important to her was her family. She will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She leaves a lasting legacy to be cherished by her loved ones, including her husband of 63 years, Kenneth Krafft Sr.; sons Kenneth Krafft Jr. of Brunswick, N.J., Kevin Krafft of Mooresville, N.C., and Kelly Modola of Longs, S.C., and daughter, Jennie Matthews and son-in-law Josh Matthews of Mooresville, N.C.; sister, Leslie Williams and Ken Williams of Sayre, Pa.; sister, Louise Smith of Conway, S.C.; granddaughters, Kellsey Hogan, Kalleigh Herion, Kassie Herbert and Lylah Matthews; grandsons, Kenneth Krafft III, Jared Krafft, Ryan Krafft, Brody Matthews and Tegan Matthews; great grandchildren, Cruz Hogan, Capri Hogan, Kaya Herbert, Shay Herbert and Finley Herion; nephew, John William Lockwood IV, and niece, Sarah Lockwood; along with several other nieces, nephews and loving friends.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville. A celebration of life will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
