Luann Harris Watt, 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 15, 2024, at Brookdale Peachtree Memory Care. Luann was born in Iredell County on May 14, 1938, to the late Blake P. Harris and Foda Johnson Harris. She was married to the late Kenneth “Bud” Watt and dedicated her life to raising a family of 5 boys for 47 years together.

Luann dedicated her life to her family and the Trinity community, where she was a faithful member of Trinity Methodist Church. She was the organist and pianist throughout her church membership along with being involved in many church committees and programs.

She was an active member of the Trinity Volunteer Fire Department as a lady’s auxiliary member and firefighter. She also served on the PTA board and was a bus driver at Central Elementary School. She also volunteered for Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County as a home care giver.

Luann was a graduate of Scotts High School. She received her nursing degree from Catawba Valley Community College and was employed at Iredell Memorial Hospital for many years. She retired early to become the home caregiver to her husband Bud, as he battled Alzheimer’s disease until his passing at their home in 2006.

She really enjoyed traveling and had many adventures with a group of women she called the Antique Road Show. She loved gardening, antiquing, playing canasta with friends, and loved spending as much
time as possible with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Luann had the heart of a servant, always had a smile, a kind word for all, and ready to help wherever she was needed. She was the epitome of a true mother and we’re all so blessed to have had her in our lives.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Jeffrey Earl Watt (Elaine), Kenneth Alvin Watt (Gloria), Harry Wade Watt (Lorraine),Charles Harris Watt (Kay), and Arnold Wayne Watt (Allison Copeland); grandchildren, Jeffrey Earl II (Hannah), Caroline Mastrosante (Joe), Bailey Watt (Drew), and Elijah Watt; great grandchildren, Stella and Micah Watt, and Lilly Mastrosante.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 22, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Methodist Church. The family will visit with friends from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service. Burial will follow the funeral
service in the church cemetery.

Pall bearers will be the sons and grandsons of Luann Harris Watt.
