Kristen Lynette Sherrill, 47, of Hiddenite, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2024, at her home.

Lynette was born July 15, 1977, in Caldwell County, N.C., and was the daughter of Charles Henry Sherrill Jr. and Brenda Lackey Sherrill. She was a graduate of Alexander Central High School and received her master’s degree from Fayetteville Tech University. Lynette began working in the behavioral healthcare system as a substance abuse counselor and, at the time of her death, she was studying to get her doctorate in psychology. She was also a member at Pisgah Methodist Church and loved her family.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a grandmother, Mary Mason Lacky of Hiddenite; a sister, Kimberly Sherrill Parker of Statesville (Eddie); a nephew, Thomas Lee Sherrill of Catawba (Christina); a niece, Annie Marie Parker of Hiddenite; a great niece, Kassandra Renee Sherrill; two uncles, Tony Edwin Lackey (Lisa) and Ronnie Lynn Lackey; and cousins, Matthew James Lackey, Shane Adam Lackey, Addison Lackey, Sky Lackey, and Chris Lackey.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Pisgah United Methodist Church with Pastor Matt Harrold and Pastor Thomas Sherrill officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the church.
