Martha “Suzi” Gresham Mullins, 77, of Troutman, N.C., passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Autumn Care in Cornelius, N.C.
She was born December 21, 1946, in Georgia to the late James Seaborn Gresham and Ruth Jones Gresham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Nancy VanCleef and Juanita Hudson.
She graduated from Briarcliff High School in Atlanta, Ga., and received a bachelor’s degree at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala. She studied for her master’s degree in English at the University of Tennessee.
Suzi taught English at Harriman High School in Roane County, Tenn., and taught BSU at Roane State Community College in Roane County, Tenn. She spent the rest of her career working for U.S. Airways in reservations before retiring in 2006.
She enjoyed quilting and made many memory quilts for loved ones and friends. She loved cooking with butter and drinking ice-cold Diet Pepsi while tending to her flower gardens. Suzi was an expert at correcting your grammar, and she hated to dust. Her favorite pastime was spoiling her granddaughters and her dogs. But above all else in her life, she loved the Lord Jesus Christ.
Suzi is survived by her daughters, Julie Stauss (Rich) and Brooke Bowers (David); grandchildren, Taylar Erin Stauss and Holly Nicole Houge (Lucas); great-granddaughter, Blair; and best friends, Joanie, Lauren, Judy, Lois, and Michelle.
No services are planned at this time.
