Mary Ann Pippin, born January 12, 1951, in Blue Island, Ill., passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C.
Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband and high school sweetheart, Chuck Pippin; two daughters, Kimberly Pippin Lawrence (Shaun Lawrence) and Lt. Col. Jennifer L Pippin, MD (Victor Medina Soto); and grandchildren, Emma and Max Lawrence; siblings Roseann Latoria, Michael Latoria, Daniel Latoria and Frances McCarron. She is preceded in death by her parents, Vito and Rose Latoria and brother, PFC David Latoria.
Mary Ann worked side by side with Chuck for over 25 years as they built from scratch and managed a successful pool construction business. Most recently, Mary Ann worked at Carter Bank and Trust in Mooresville before retiring with Chuck to Florida, where most of her family and friends reside.
Mary Ann was always the happiest, spending time cooking, caring for and laughing with the people she loved. She created a legacy through her immediate and extended family. She was the proudest “Grammy” of all time, supporting her children and grandchildren in every aspect of their lives. The Grandparent’s Club at CHA provides financial support for children in our community that do not have family to assist with “extras” such as prom dresses, driver’s education fees, college application fees, summer camps and field trip expenses … the things she loved seeing her own grandchildren enjoy.
The Pippin Family will welcome drop-in visitors to celebrate Mary Ann’s life at Glen Lakes Club House, located at 10485 Glen Lakes Blvd., Weeki Wachee, Fla., on Saturday, December 28, 2024 (time TBD).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to be made to the “Grandparent’s Club” at Children’s Hope Alliance in her name (194 Barium Springs Drive, Statesville NC 28677 or www.childrenshopealliance.org).
Please accept sincere thanks from the Pippin family for the prayers, meals, support, and love so many friends, near and far, have offered over the last several weeks. Your love for Mary Ann and her family has been reflected in so many beautiful ways.
Cavin-Cook Funeral Home & Crematory, Mooresville, is serving the Pippin family. Condolences may be made to the family at www.cavin-cook.com.
