Ms. Maureen Ann Rucker, 39, of 930 Winston Avenue, Statesville, N.C., was born in Iredell County on November 15, 1984, and was the daughter of Donald Lee Rucker and Shirley Ann Horne Rucker. She departed this life on Saturday, May 8, 2024, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.
She attended the Statesville City Schools and was a loving companion, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Prior to her disability, she was employed by RHA as a Resource Counselor.
In addition to her parents, Donald Lee and Shirley Ann Rucker, she leaves to cherish the memory of her life her fiancé, Steve “Loaf” Morrison of the home; two children, Matrial Morrison and Alona Morrison, both of the home; her step-son, Nelyn Testman; a grandson, Naimir Testman; a brother, Curtis (Princess Laura Clark) Rucker of Statesville; a sister, Marlene (Rob Thompson) Rucker of Statesville; her sisters-in-law, Melissa (Tim Acker) Morrison and Tomika (Rego) Leach; aunts and uncles, David Horne, Stanley Horne, Wileen Horne, Saron (Butch) Whitehead, Deborah Horne, Bert Rucker and Flossie Rucker; a special nephew, Steven Morrison; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including Cathy Rucker, Pam Rucker, Annette Rucker.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Friday, June 14, 2024, at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with Reverend John Mott officiating. Members of the family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m., but will assemble at the residence at other times.
