Maxine McCarter Leazer, 91, of Davidson, N.C., passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C.

She was born July 14, 1932, in Gatlinburg, Tenn., to the late Charles McCarter and Ruby Whaley McCarter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jackie C. McCarter, and a nephew, Rodney Hudspeth.

Maxine worked in Quality Control at Draymore Manufacturing for over 25 years before her retirement. She enjoyed watching Westerns on TV and traveling with tour groups. Her greatest passion was her family. Maxine loved everyone.

She is survived by her children, Robin Leazer Knox and husband Joe, and Larry Marshall Leazer and wife Dana Connelly Leazer; sister, Barbara Hudspeth; grandchildren, Holli Knox Wilkins and husband Brandon and their son, Luke, Joseph Knox, Allison Leazer Hoyle and her husband Steven, and their children, Jackson and Henry, Sarah Leazer Gaut and her husband Tyler; and nephew, Tim Hudspeth.

A graveside service will be on Wednesday, June 26, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cornelius with Eddie Karriker officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gordon Hospice and Palliative Care, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
