Michael Dean Moose, 69, of Statesville, N.C., died Monday, July 1, 2024, at the Gordon Hospice House.

He was born in Iredell County on August 27, 1954, to the late Buster Coite Moose and Hazel Martin Moose. He was also preceded in death by his wife Cynthia Diane Rumple Moose; and two brothers, Daniel Coite Moose and Donald W. Moose.

A graduate of Statesville High School and Appalachian State University, Michael retired as an accountant with Tri-State Distributors. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing. Other hobbies included playing chess and solving crossword puzzles.

Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Tiffany Michelle Moose and Samantha Ashley Moose; a son, Martin Dean Moose; a brother, David M. Moose his wife Jeanie; a sister-in-law, Sandy Moose; a niece, Tammy (Lauren); two nephews, Andrew (Ashley) and Justin (Natalia); two great-nieces, Reece and Georgia; and a great-nephew, August.

A Gathering of Friends will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Nicholson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m.
