Mrs. Mildred Dobbins, 92, was born in Iredell County on April 2, 1932, to the late William Smyre and Fannie Glenn Smyre. She departed this life on Sunday, April 14, 2024.

Mildred attended Iredell County Schools and later worked as a machine operator for a textile company.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Junious Walter Dobbins; and a son, Howard Dobbins.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life three children, Mary Jane Dobbins, Larry (Arilla) Dobbins, and Priscilla Dobbins; daughter-in-law, Columbia Dobbins; grandchildren, Justin (Sylvia) Alexander, Erica Dobbins Gaither, Kendell Dobbins, Sharon Dobbins, Brad Dobbins, Randolph Dobbins, Donnell Dobbins, Bridgett Dobbins, Fred Miller (Kathy), Pam Littlejohn, Marketta Roseboro, Johnny Dobbins, and Keke Dobbins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Highland Acres Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. at the church, and burial will follow in Iredell Memorial Park.
