Ms. Millicent Novella Bruner, 58, of Hayden Burke Lane, Taylorsville, N.C., a cherished person known for her kind, loving, and caring personality with courageous strength and resilience despite her blindness, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 27, 2024, at her home into eternal rest.
Millie was born on September 19, 1966, in Alexander County, the daughter of the late Alexander M. (Sonny) Bruner and Annette Watts Bruner.
She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Hwy 90 East in Taylorsville. In her youth, Millie attended the Governor Morehead School for the Blind in Raleigh, N.C.
Known for her positive traits like kindness, humor, and love of family and music, etc., Millie touched the lives of all who knew her through her keen sense of hearing, and insightful, amusing conversations. She could tell you where things were located if you asked her because she always remembered where she put them. Red was Millie’s favorite color. Red roses can symbolize rebirth and new beginnings.
Although she has departed this earthly life, Millie will live forever in the hearts of everyone.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory include half siblings Wanda Bruner Saner of Statesville, N.C., Paula Bruner of Conover, N.C., Sherry Bruner of Conover, N.C., Richard (Angie) Bruner of Taylorsville, N.C.; and numerous caregivers, including her main caregivers, Patricia J. Watts of the home, Steve W. Watts of Taylorsville, N.C., and Sharon Glover of Vista, Calif. Exceptional caregivers include Sheila Beaver, Samantha Redmon, Jane Hefner and Ann Lackey. She is also survived by a host of special cousins and friends. Recognition is given to Millie’s exceptional friendships with employees of Alexander County EMS and Fresenius Kidney Care Dialysis Center. In addition, she had a special pet that she loved so much, her bunny rabbit, “Bugsy.”
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025, in the Adams Funeral Chapel, 307 Main Ave Drive, Taylorsville, NC 28681. Pastor Ty D. Michaux will officiate. Eulogy by Reverend Macy Jones.
