Nancy Parker Hutchison, 84, of Statesville, N.C., passed away at the Gordon Hospice House on Sunday, September 22, 2024. Nancy was born in Iredell County on January 4, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Hubert Manuel Parker and Mabel Stamper Parker. She was a graduate of Harmony High School and was married to the late Russell Hutchison. She was a retired Office Administrator for Cabinet Makers.
Nancy dearly loved her family and loved playing with her great grandbabies. She enjoyed the love of her best friend of 55 years, Prissy Nicholson, and enjoyed talking on the phone to her cousins. She had a great passion for rescuing and fostering cats. She could always be found with a cat cradled in her lap. Her days were lightened when listening to her favorite songs by Bruce Hedrick.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Parker, and her son-in-law, Kenneth Matney.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Karen Lowe (Brian Beaver) and Amy Matney; stepsons, Jeff Hutchison (Cynthia) and Joe Hutchison (Ellen); granddaughters, Kristie Shepherd (Allen), Jessica Loftis, Amanda Loftis, Kayla Holestin (Ricky), Katie Fox, Lily Hutchison, Ashley Wise (Dakota) and Emily Hutchison; fourteen great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter due in December.
A funeral service will be held at Rose Chapel Methodist Church on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 1 pm, with Pastor Gary Camp officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 26, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Troutman Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pawever Yours, 341 West Memorial Highway, Harmony, NC 28634.
