Nanette Marie Shalvey, 64, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024.
Nanette was born in Wheeling, W.Va., on January 26, 1960, to Bernard J. Shalvey and Norma Jean Cioni Shalvey. She was a dedicated and loving caregiver to her dear elderly patients, several of whom listed her in their obituaries as a “dear friend”. Many a day was passed meeting their physical needs while praise and worship music played lifting their hearts. She regularly attended The Cove Church. She would light up the room with her big smile and infectious laugh … always sincere and open … ready to share stories of her day’s work, her patients, her children and grandchildren. She loved her children unconditionally. In addition to her patients and family, Nanette loved taking care of her yard, her pets and herself. She became quite a workout enthusiast. She will leave a big hole in the lives that she touched but we willingly release her into the presence of the Lord that she loved and the reunion with her dear parents and grandparents.
She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Bernard L. and Margaret Donovan Shalvey & Gino and Italia Cioni.
Nanette is survived by her son, Dale Jeremiah Shalvey, his wife Tara (Stottlemyer) Shalvey and franddaughter Hope Shalvey of Conover, N.C.; daughter, Nina Jean Shalvey of Statesville and, N.C.,; grandson, Colton Gibbs at home; brother, Bernard G. and Mary Ellen (Drozda) Shalvey of Mooresville, N.C., their three adult children, Lisa M. “Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.” (John 14:1-2 )
