Osteen McLean Ostwalt, 93, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Autumn Care of Statesville, N.C.

She was born on May 23, 1931, in Iredell County to the late Robert Lee McLean and Bertie Huffman McLean.

Osteen was born and raised in Mooresville, worked for Draymore for 30 years and was a member at Bethel Baptist Church. She was a fabulous cook and made wonderful poundcakes. Osteen was a talented seamstress who loved flowers and enjoyed fishing.

Her greatest joy was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Robert Blume Ostwalt.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Jean Harrison Benfield (Daniel), Ronald R. Ostwalt, Donald Ostwalt, and Judy Ostwalt Robbins; grandchildren, Eric B. Harrison (Angie), Heather Harrison Weeks (Jason), Robert D. Harrison (Amber), and Brooke Allen (Eli); great grandchildren, Luke Harrison, Anna Harrison, Caroline Weeks, Katherine Weeks, William Weeks, Levie Harrison, Christopher Harrison, and Liam Allen.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. The service will follow at 5 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Steve Cramm officiating.
