With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Jones, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Patricia peacefully departed this life on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, North Carolina. She was born on November 9, 1958, in San Luis Obispo, Calif. From her birthplace to her final residence, Patricia’s life was one of love, dedication, and cherished relationships.
Patricia was known for her loving spirit and devotion to her family. Patricia found immense joy in spending time with her two daughters and her grandkids, always making sure to prioritize their time together and instilling in them the importance of doing their best in everything they do (as she was taught by her father). Her favorite pastime was putting together intricate picture puzzles, a hobby she found both challenging and rewarding.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Jones; her father, George Marlin Shelton; brother, Brian Hubbard; sisters, Linda Polk and Loretta Shelton; and her stepfather, Herbert Hubbard.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Erika Reed of Troutman and Siobhan (Nafis) Miller of Taylorsville; her treasured grandchildren: Nadya (Jacob Quinn) Reed, Tristan Easley, Nazir Miller, Nya Miller and Elijah Daniels; mother, Ethel Hubbard of Sparta; her dear brother George (Nancy) Shelton of Washington; her cherished sisters, Nancy Howe of Monterey, Calif., Juanita Kuykendall of Knoxville, Tenn., and Wendy Hubbard; neighbor Charlene; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family.
The family wishes to express their most heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Gordon Hospice House for the care and support in their time of need. In honor of Patricia’s memory, and in lieu of flowers, financial contributions can be made to the Gordon Hospice House, an organization that provided compassionate care during her final days.
Services to celebrate Patricia’s life and legacy will be held at a later date.
Patricia Ann Jones’s life was a testament to love, family, and dedication. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her but her spirit will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
Arrangements are being lovingly handled by Nicholson Funeral Home.
Praying for her precious daughters and grandchildren.
