Mama, Patsy Lee Byers DeJarnette, 83, of Stony Point, N.C., entered into Heaven with her beautiful smile on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Abernathy Laurels in Newton, N.C. She was born May 3, 1941 in Iredell County, the daughter of the late Archie Vance Byers and Cleo Johnson Byers.

Patsy graduated from Scotts High School. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed taking care of people. She was a member of Hiddenite Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed cooking and NASCAR racing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Reid Gray.

Those left to cherish and honor her memories include her children, Bill DeJarnette (Alisa) of Hiddenite, Amy Edwards (Brad) of Hickory, and Brian DeJarnette (Tara) of Stony Point; her grandchildren, Kayla DeJarnette Gibson (Matthew), Ethan DeJarnette, Garison DeJarnette, Kelsea DeJarnette, Abby DeJarnette, Kolton DeJarnette, Cassi Edwards, and James Edwards; her sisters, Peggy B. Gray and JoAnn Morrison (Wayne), all of Statesville, and Brenda Stewart (Don) of Troutman; her brothers, Doyte Byers (Linda) of Stony Point, and Dale Byers (Joyce) of Tampa, Fla.; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Hiddenite Baptist Church. Pastor Zach Deal will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hiddenite Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. prior to the service. Pallbearers include Garison DeJarnette, Kolton DeJarnette, James Edwards, Matthew Gibson, Hunter Braswell, and Ryan Fox. Honorary pallbearer will be Ethan DeJarnette.
