Pauline Campbell blew out the candles on her 87th birthday cake on May 28, 2024, celebrating with family and friends. The afternoon of June 14, 2024, she breathed her last breath assured of the love from all whom she had held so dearly. She was a devoted wife for 63 years to her husband Ralph, who preceded her in death.

A Mother’s love is one of the greatest treasures of life. All of those who were fortunate to call her Mommy and Grand-Mommy are rich beyond words. Pauline was a wonderful singer, pianist, seamstress, costume designer, chef, baker, writer, artist, and gardener. On any day you might find her teaching one of her grandchildren how to make biscuits and then tending to her vast orchid collection. Her kindness, love, and generosity were extended to many more who asked to call her Mom and Grand-Mommy. Her doors and heart were always open to all. Pauline’s strong faith and moral compass will endure as a guidepost to all who knew her.

Pauline was a member of Front Street Baptist Church for 54 years. She sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, created costumes and flags for the Easter Pageant, and prepared Wednesday night meals for the congregation. She was also associated with Trinity Baptist Church and New Perth ARP Church.

She served in several capacities in the Gideons Auxiliary where she shared Bibles with Doctors, Nurses, hospitals, and inmates. She also volunteered at Iredell Memorial Hospital, supporting patients. Pauline was a member and oYicer of the Civitan International Club. Her career was twofold, first in the textile industry and then with the landscaping business she owned with her husband.

Pauline was born in Iredell County on May 28,1937, to Elic Murphy and Carrie Millsaps Marlowe. She died peacefully in her home June 14, 2024. She is survived by three children, Janice (Chuck) Travis, Craig Campbell, and Roger (Deneen) Campbell; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A service honoring her life will be held at 10 a.m. on July 20, 2024, at New Perth ARP Church, Troutman, N.C. The family will receive friends immediately following the ceremony.

Memorials may be made to The Gideons International, Statesville South Camp, PO Box 148, Statesville, NC 28687; or Hospice of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.troutmanfuneralhome.com.
