Mrs. Peggy Joyce Blackburn Glover, 78, was born in Statesville, N.C., on February 2, 1948, to the late David Smith and Mary Blackburn. She departed this life on November 28, 2024.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Eugene Glover; a sister, Nancy Blackburn Webb; and a granddaughter, Shakia Nicole Banks.

She leaves to cherish the memories of her life three sons, Ronald Anthony Blackburn, Conrad Eugene Glover, and Tony Pernell (Natasha) Glover; two daughters, Cynthia Glover Gray and Christine Glover Moore, both of Statesville, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Malcolm Blackburn of Raleigh, N.C., Andre’ Glover and Rondaisia (Regina) Blackburn, both of Hickory, N.C., Preston (Shanice) Moten of Charleston, S.C., Eboniee Glover of Troutman, N.C., Deltric Glover of Des Moines, Iowa, Antoine (Shanika) Glover, and Jazmin Banks and Treylyn Glover, all of Statesville, N.C.; and a host of stepchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, other cousins, relatives and friends. A special friend and caregiver, Alyse Ruff, also survives.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 2 p.m. at The Mary B. Bigham Memorial Chapel, Rutledge & Bigham Funeral Home. Reverend Williams will officiate. Members of the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday. Burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery.
