Perry Knox Abernathy, 71, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on December 1, 2024. He was born December 27, 1952, in Charlotte, N.C., to the late Charles Fulton Abernathy and Mary Helms Abernathy.
Perry worked for Freightliner in Quality Assurance before his retirement. He was the co-owner of Mooresville Teen Club and Arcade from 1995-1997.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Mary “Sissy” Abernathy, Roy Abernathy, and Charles Lloyd Abernathy.
Perry is survived by his wife, Susan Hinshaw Abernathy; daughters, Mary Jeanette “Jeannie” Abernathy and Melissa Manriquez-Geiger (Thomas); son, Allen Gualtney (Jackie); siblings, David Abernathy, Sandra Nelson, Linda Abernathy, and Richard Abernathy (Robyn); grandchildren, Hallie, Mason, and Mila; his precious fur babies, Beau, Louie, Lilly, Emma, and Otis; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will announce plans for a Celebration of Perry’s Life after the beginning of the new year.
