Rebekah Ann Lindsay Brooks, 90, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House.
She was born December 3, 1933, in Davidson County to the late Artie Lindsay and Edna Hegler Lindsay.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Melvin and Dallas Lindsay, and a sister, Betty Gray Brady.
She retired after 30 years of service as the administrative assistant for the deputy superintendent of Charlotte-Mecklenburg School system. Rebekah enjoyed baking, traveling, especially to the beach, sewing, crafts, and being with her family and friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Thornton Brooks Sr.; children, Thornton Brooks Jr. and wife Danette, Warren Brooks and wife Amy, and Kim Mayfield; and grandchildren, Chelsea and Kayleigh Brooks, Spencer and Ben Mayfield, and Lindsay Brooks.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, March 29, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m., also at the church, with Pastor Mark Harris officiating.
