Renard Barnette Westmoreland, 70, of 495 New Salem Road, Statesville, N.C., passed away unexpectedly in North Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. He was born in Iredell County on October 12, 1953, and was the son of the late Lenoir Westmoreland and Bertha Heaggans Westmoreland.
He was married to Glenda White Westmoreland, who survives.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 3 p.m. at South Iredell AME Zion Church in Troutman, N.C. Reverend Bobbi Samuels will officiate and burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Mr. Westmoreland will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state at 1:30 p.m. Members of the family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m., but will assemble at the residence at other times.

Always pleasant to see him and Mrs. Glenda together. No matter where we were I was greeted with both smiling and asking about my Father and before we departed we were laughing about something. Mrs. Glenda and children, you all are in my thoughts and prayers.
