Robert Alan Breedlove II, affectionately known as Robby, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the age of 34, due to an automobile accident.

Robby was born on December 22, 1989, in Mountain Home, Idaho, to Brenda Breedlove Whitcomb and Robert Breedlove.

Raised by his mother and stepfather, Christopher Whitcomb, Robby was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness, generous spirit, sense of humor, incredible imagination and infectious laugh that brought joy to so many. His passing has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched.

From an early age, Robby’s interest in technology was clear. He loved taking apart radios and other appliances to understand how they worked, a curiosity that grew into a lifelong passion for technology and gaming. As a child, he enjoyed modding Xbox 360s and playing video games, and summers at Space Camp building rockets. This eventually led to his hobby of building custom computers. His own computer has an intricate water-cooling system and dazzling light display, showing his technical skill and creativity. He also followed SpaceX with a passion only engineers would understand. However, Robby found his greatest joy in spending time with family and friends. Whether gaming, watching anime, or sharing a laugh during gatherings, he brought warmth and joy to every moment, leaving lasting memories with those around him.

Robby’s adventurous spirit wasn’t limited to technology; he was also an avid rock climber who faced life’s challenges with the same strength and determination he showed on the climbing wall. This adventurous nature was reflected in his weekly podcast with close friends, where he engaged in meaningful conversations and built on his lasting connections.

Robby’s presence brought light and inspiration to those around him, and he will be deeply missed but forever cherished.

He is survived by his loving parents, Brenda and Christopher Whitcomb, and Robert Breedlove (Amie); his siblings, Bennett Whitcomb and David Whitcomb, and stepsister, Heidi Gibson (Kenny); and his beloved nephew, Wyatt Gibson. He is also survived by his grandparents, Raelene and Joseph Stanislawski; his uncle, Bill Stanislawski (Renee); and his aunts, Tina Breedlove and Julie Breedlove. He leaves behind many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly. Robby was preceded in death by his uncle, Brian Stanislawski, and his grandparents, Richard and Margaret Breedlove.

Robby graduated from Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, S.C., and earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Carolina. He was employed with Qwest Electric and had achieved the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. Robby also served as a Notary Public in North Carolina.

A funeral service will be held on December 14, 2024, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 292 Munn Road E, Fort Mill, SC 29715. A Celebration of Life will follow the service.

For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live streamed by the church at https://saintphilipneri.org/ under Mass Streaming.

Robby’s legacy of kindness, passion, and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.
