On Monday June 24, 2024, God called Robert Pagett Rudisill home.

Born August 11, 1941, in Hickory, N.C., he spent the latter part of his life in Iredell County where he was well known and respected.

As a husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Robert was the patriarch of our family, our cornerstone. He taught us about hard work, integrity, and a job well done. A graduate of China Grove High School and Lenoir Rhyne University, he was a successful business owner and home builder.

What he enjoyed most was time spent with family and friends on the lake, in the mountains, traveling and camping. He also didn’t mind time spent in his recliner watching a good ball game.

His family remembers him fondly as devoted, intelligent, wise, a trooper, strong, generous, faithful, a leader, funny, a gentleman, zealous, determined, resilient, and safe.

Robert is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Shelia Rudisill; son Rudy (Gayle) Rudisill; sister, Martha (John) Misenhimer; grandchildren, Ashley (Jordan) Bowen, Jacob Bowen, Amy (Jason) Holt, Jamie Fuqua, and Robin (Adam) Hopper; as well as three great granddaughters and six great grandsons. He was preceded in death by his father, John Rudisill; mother, Martha Rudisill; brother, John Rudisill; daughter, Kathy Rudisill Bowen; and granddaughter, Kristy Conaway.

The funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, June 28, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Troutman, N.C. The service will be officiated by Pastor Dieter Punt and Pastor Jason Holt. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Troutman, N.C. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. until 12 noon at the church.

Troutman Funeral Home is serving the family.
