Sandra Jean Harris Knauf, 77, of Statesville, N.C., died Friday, February 9, 2024, at the Gordon Hospice House following a lengthy illness. She was born in Washington, D.C., on January 20, 1947, to the late Charles Harris and Hellen Brannon Harris.

Sandra worked for the U.S. government for several years early in her career. She loved being outdoors, especially flower gardening, watching butterflies, and seeing the leaves in the mountains in the fall. She loved dancing and socializing.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 55 years, William “Bill” Knauf; a son, Jason Knauf (Kris) of St. Louis, Mo.; a daughter, Lauren Bauer (Greg) of Jenks, Okla.; and two grandchildren, Rylan Bauer and Makenna Bauer of Jenks, Okla.

Per Sandra’s wishes, there will be no formal services.
