Sharon Lynn Evans Wooten, 73, passed peacefully into the Lord’s care on Friday, November 22, 2024. Sharon was born in Winchester, Ky., on April 7, 1951, and spent her childhood years in New York and Orlando, Fla., later moving to North Carolina and most recently was a proud resident of Statesville, N.C.

People who knew Sharon often spoke of her sweet voice and kind nature. She never met a stranger, often taking walks and chatting with old and new friends along the way. Her thoughts were always on what she could do for others. Family was a priority for Sharon, and she was a devoted mother and grandmother. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren, playing games, watching a movie or talking about a topic of interest for them or her. Sharon was an avid reader and loved to learn. She would self-educate herself on any new topic she found interesting. While in Florida, Sharon worked for Walt Disney World for a period time, a position she felt very proud to have had and loved to tell stories of her time spent there. She was a member of Williamson Methodist Church in Mooresville, where she had enjoyed singing in their Praise Choir.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth I. Evans and Adrian H. Evans, and her husband of 30 years, Roscoe M. Wooten.

Sharon is survived by her son, Randy Green; and her daughter, Shannon Kendall; son-in-law Tim Kendall; and five grandchildren, Adamarie, Sean, Chris, Evan and Xavier, all of Statesville, N.C., as well as brother, Larry Evans; niece, Laura; nephew, Bill; and two great nieces; two great nephews; and four great-grand nephews and nieces, all of Ohio.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home in Statesville with Pastor Mark Pitts officiating. Visitation will be held after the service.

Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family.
