Steven Craig Jones, who was known as “Steve” by friends and “Craig” by family, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday August 28, 2024, after a short courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 12, 1961, he was a force to be reckoned with.
He was born with great strength and went out with great strength. His journey touched the lives of many, leaving behind memories of his opinions and a deep desire to help those he believed could not help themselves.
He was predeceased by his father, Dale Lavon Jones; paternal grandparents, Andrew and Zetta Mae Jones; and maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Lillian Shumaker.
He is survived by his mother, Kay Phyllis Jones; sister, Priscilla Thomas (David) of Olin, N.C.; sister Cheryl Adams (Kent) of Troutman, N.C.; his nieces and nephews; and too many adopted family members to name them all.
Receiving will be Sunday, September 8, at Troutman Funeral Home in Troutman, N.C., at 4 p.m. with a memorial service at 5 p.m. Graveside will be held privately by family at a later date.
Troutman Funeral Home is serving the family.
