Evangelist Susan Aleen Alexander Jones, 64, (Mookie) was born in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late Theodore Roosevelt Alexander and Aleen Mattox Alexander on September 7, 1960. She entered into eternal life on Sunday, October 10,2024, at her residence. A brother, Allen Bruce Alexander, also preceded her in death. She was married for 40 years to Calvin Ray Jones of the home.

Susan attended William Penn High School and Statesville High School. She worked as a machine operator at John Boyle Industries. She was a Sunday School teacher and attended Wednesday night Bible Study. Susan liked to paint and knitting, and she loved being involved in church activities, revivals, and vacation bible school.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Dwayne La’Trace Jones of Charlotte and Antonio Tyrone Jones, of Philadelphia, Pa.; three brothers, Theodore Roosevelt Alexander of Philadelphia, Pa., David Eugene Alexander of Statesville, and Wayne Ryant Alexander of Statesville; two sisters, Dianne Pelvaone (William) Brinkley, and Mary Ann Alexander, both of Philadelphia, Pa.; six grandchildren, Erion La’trace Jones, Ameir Lashon Jones, Alexis Sawyer, Destiny Jones, Carter Jackson, and Azaria Princess Jones; brothers-n-law, Jerry Jones, Marvin Millsaps, and Douglas Millsaps; sisters-in-laws, Peggy Ann Gray of Winston-Salem, Roberta Colvert of Statesville, and Della (Chris) Frazier of Statesville; and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Rutledge and Bigham on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 12 noon with Pastor Nasby Mills bringing the eulogy. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, and burial will be at Clarks Chapel Baptist Church.
