Charles Thaddeus “Thad” Linker, 83, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024, at his home.

He was born on January 18, 1941, in Mooresville to the late Charles Franklin Linker and Jeanette Thomas Linker. Mr. Linker was a Vietnam veteran, serving proudly in the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong member of Prospect Presbyterian Church in Mooresville. He was a co-owner and operator of Port City Transfer and Storage for 41 years. After retiring, Thad and Rudy Beaver enjoyed running a small engine repair business and entertaining friends and family at The Shop.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carol Jones Linker; sons, Charles “Chuck” Linker II and Jon Linker (Sher); stepdaughter, Paula Clark; sister, Sharron Clanton; brothers, Tommy Linker (Sylvia), Grey Linker, and Neel Linker; grandchildren, Joseph Linker, Remington Linker, Gus Linker, Brandy Erving (Andrew), and Triston Clark (Erin); great grandchildren, Zackary Erving and Grace Erving; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 27, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. with a service following at 3 p.m. at Prospect Presbyterian Church with Rev. Will Gipe officiating. Inurnment will follow the service in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prospect Presbyterian Church, 9425 W NC 152 Hwy, Mooresville, NC 28115.
