Theresa Ann Luhr Peek, her friends just called her Tess, 79, of Statesville, N.C., died Monday, January 15, 2024, at the Gordon Hospice House following a short illness.

She was born in Syracuse, N.Y., on November 19, 1944, to the late Herbert Luhr and Theresa Schultz Luhr. She was also preceded in death by her husband David Peek; a brother, Bud Luhr, and his wife Vivian; and a sister, Ruth Sarenski, and her husband Frank.

Theresa was a graduate of Assumption Catholic Academy in Syracuse and owned her own cosmetology business for 44 years. She loved gardening, and arts and crafts, and she especially loved her fur baby, Itsy.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, James Peek and Brian Peek; a brother, Tom Luhr (Debbie); and two sisters, Linda Sylvester (William), and Leona Baranello.

Per Theresa’s wishes, there will be no formal services.
