Wesley Todd Crawford, 56, of Statesville, N.C., passed away unexpectedly due to a motorcycle accident on Friday, May 10, 2024.
Todd was born on April 13, 1968, in Iredell County and was the son of Wesley Crawford and the late Linda Deal Crawford.
He graduated from West Iredell High School. Todd was a dedicated employee of CommScope (Claremont), where he worked as a Manufacturing Operator for 29 years.
He was a man of integrity who took pride in his work. If you had the pleasure of working with him, you knew how meticulous he was and how things had to be done a certain way and in their place. You could see these traits in his amazing carpentry and landscaping skills as well.
Todd never met a stranger. He was a man with a big heart, always willing to help others anyway that he could, never expecting anything in return.
His lifelong passion was riding his motorcycle and planning that next big adventure with the guys. Those whp met him early on through the forums knew him as “Big Country.” Over the years, Todd has formed lifelong friendships and admiration across the country that are still strong today.
“To make a long story short.”
Todd was just a good man who loved God, valued life, family, and friends.
He is survived by his sister, Patti Crawford Johnson (Rick); brother, Sydney Brown Crawford (Donna); a niece, Courtney J Seese (Brian); and nephews, Chad Johnson (Stephanie), Dustin Crawford (Lauren), and Dylan Crawford (Haley). Also surviving are his former wife and friend Lisa Brawley Crawford; nieces Alexandria Moretz, Elizabeth VanVleet and Morgan Brawley; and nephew Steven Brawley Jr.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Troutman Funeral Home is serving the family.
I’m still in shock over this. Todd was a good man and definitely made a lasting impression with me.
The family will be in our prayers.
David Ledford
