It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Walker Elmer Wilson, 94, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville, N.C.

Walker was a graduate of East Bank High School and West Virginia University Tech. He was known for his kindness, sense of humor and work ethic.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty L. Wilson; children, Cynthia L. Witt of South Charleston, W.Va., Tammy Wilson of Mooresville, N.C., and Wayne Wilson (Bonnie) of Troutman, N.C.; grandchildren, Jami Witt-Lewis and John L. Witt III of West Virginia, Avery Wilson of Maine, Cecil Wilson of Wisconsin, Tony Tarini and Gabrielle “Brie” Thomas of North Carolina; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Details of the memorial service will be made available at a later date.
