Mr. Walter Brennan Conner was born in Iredell County on October 24, 1966. He was the son of the late Walter Rosby and Mamie Conner. He departed this life on Monday, January 8, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center, Winston Salem, N.C.

Walter was married to Teresa Faye Murdock Conner, who preceded him in death.. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Conner; and two sisters, MaLinda Woods and Esther Sharpe.

Walter was a graduate of West Iredell High School and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He will truly be missed.

He leaves to cherish the memory of his life two sons, Michael Conner of LA and Jamel (Jasmine) Conner of Statesville; one daughter, Dante Conner of Hickory; four sisters, Shay Conner of Statesville, Teresa Redmon of Harmony, Kathy Conner of Statesville and Dorothy Woodard of Statesville; two brothers, Terry Rosby and Keith Rosby; a special friend, Venessa Cuthrell; eight grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins, including a special cousin, Sandra Wellman; and other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary at 12 noon. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12 noon at the funeral home.
