William Minford Chatham Jr., 79, of Union Grove, N.C., died Friday, June 14, 2024, at Iredell Memorial Hospital after a period of declining health.

He was born in Wilkes County on September 22, 1944, to the late William M. Chatham Sr. and Mae Mahaffey Chatham.

William retired from Trim System in Statesville, N.C. He was a member of North Iredell Baptist Church and truly loved his church and church family. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and tinkering on any kind of engine. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory include a son, William M. “Billy” Chatham III (Malia); three daughters, Audrey Moose, Angie Anderson, and Kristie Potts (Travis); 12 grandchildren, Jay Chatham, David Chatham, Jacob Chatham, Blake Chatham, Amber Chatham, Robert Anderson Jr., Andy Moose, Alisha Savage, Lynda Speece, Justin Potts, Zachary Potts, and Jamie-Lee Potts; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Sallie Nelson (Lonnie); and two brothers, Jeffery Chatham and Roger Chatham (Barbara).

A Memorial Service will be held at North Iredell Baptist Church on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Preacher Randy Brown, Joel Cass, and William Chatham III officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service.
