Alfred Babcock, 88, of Stony Point, N.C., and formerly of Columbus, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at his home following an extended illness.

Al was born in Alexander County on October 28, 1936, to the late Claude Babcock and Della Conklin Babcock. Al served in the United States Air Force.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several siblings. Survivors include one sister, Jeanette Strassburg.

The family will have a private celebration of life.
