Antoinette Carmela Recchia, 89, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville.

She was born on January 3, 1936, in New York City, N.Y., to the late Umberto DiMeglio and Maria Cuomo DiMeglio. She loved cooking and hosting gatherings, clogging, crafts, and travel. She was involved in the Catholic women’s auxiliary, Catholic daughters, teaching CCD.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Recchia; and brother, Vincent DiMeglio.

Those left to cherish Antoinette’s memory are her children, Peter (Heide) Recchia, Jean (Jerry) Sanders, and Gloria Hughson; grandchildren, Jenna (Mike), Nicholas (Jenn), Robert (Shauna), Jeff (Chelsea), and Danielle (Arn); great grandchildren, Sophie, Sierra, Soren, Vanden, Roxen, Felicia, Odin, Scotty, Annabella, and Myles.

A funeral mass in celebration of Antoinette’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on March 28 at St. Therese Catholic Church.
