Barbara Gordon Kentler, 63, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville.

She was born on December 23, 1961, in the boogie down Bronx, N.Y., to the late Richard Gordon and Beatrice DeFiglio Gordon. Barbara was a fashion illustrator and worked throughout the garment industry. She was well known for her gorgeous sketches, designs, and yearly “beautiful lady” Christmas cards. She enjoyed dancing, baking, “shop ’til you drop” sessions, collecting art, Barbie dolls, jewelry, and most importantly shoes!

Barbara is survived by her husband, Brian A. Kentler; children, Brittany Batista (Daniel), Brendan Kentler, and Brooke Kentler; sister, Gail G. Mulligan (William); brother, Richard Gordon (Maria); grandson, David; and one granddaughter on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 6 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
