Bette Rae Holshouser Campagna, 88, of Mooresville, N.C., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 8, 2025. She was born on December 14, 1936, in Kannapolis, N.C., daughter of the late Ray A. Holshouser and Florence E. Holshouser.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Wilbert Vincent Campagna, and her eldest son, Vincent Paul Campagna.
Bette spent her childhood in Kannapolis, going on to attend Catawba College in Salisbury, N.C., where she met her husband Will. Bette graduated with a teaching degree from Catawba and earned her Masters in Education from UNC Charlotte. She served the students at Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools for over 20 years, most of which were at Garinger High School teaching French and English. Also, a student of music, Bette, played piano and had a beautiful voice. She was a long-time member of the North Mecklenburg Community Chorus and a dedicated member of the St. Therese Catholic Church Choir. Bette enjoyed playing cards and always looked forward to her weekly card game with friends. A Boston terrier lover, Bette loved spending time with her best friend Barkley.
Most important to Bette was her family. Known to her family as “Monnie,” she is survived by her three sons, Anthony Paul Campagna (Tony) and wife Betty; Daniel Paul Campagna (Danny); and Wilbert Paul Campagna (Willie) and wife Crystal; grandchildren Vincent, Maria, Christian, Cody, Dominic, Austin, Anthony, Kyndal, Daniel, and Sydney and husband Clay; and great grandchildren Valentina, Rome, and Jonah.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Amber Edwards and Dawn Reed for providing compassionate and supportive care during her final months.
A Memorial Service will be held by the family at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Therese Catholic Church and the Boston Terrier Rescue of North Carolina.
