It is with great sadness we announce the passing of James William “Bill” Blake, 76, of Mooresville, N.C. Bill entered into rest on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was born on September 13, 1948, in Charlotte, N.C., to the late Jesse Blake and Ruby Warden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Blake.

Bill was a lover of motorcycles, hunting, fishing, golf, hot rod cars and Chevrolet trucks, college football, the beach, good Carolina BBQ and giving unique nicknames to his loved ones. For 45 years, he was a devoted employee of J. L. Hendrick Management Corporation of Charlotte, where he made lifelong friendships that became his extended family.

Bill leaves behind a lasting legacy as a deeply beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and friend. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Teresa Blake; his children, Brandon Blake and Sara, Brittany Bandy and Lucas, Stephanie Blake and Thomas, and Tammy Brower; his grandchildren, Garrett Bandy, Tyler Bandy, and Avery Bandy; sister-in-law, Mary Blake; and his beloved dog, Fred.

Bill lived by the values of hard work and generosity, always putting others before himself. He never sought recognition for his kindness; he simply believed that helping others was the right thing to do. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.

A memorial to celebrate Bill’s life will be held on Saturday, February 8, at 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, 494 E Plaza Drive, Mooresville. Pastor John McGinnis will officiate. The family will receive loved ones prior to the service at 7 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
