Brenda Lee Brown Washam, 84, of China Grove, N.C., and formerly of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville. She was born June 7, 1940, in Iredell County to the late Lester Vick Brown and Lila Lee Ledbetter Brown.

Brenda was a very talented seamstress. She enjoyed crafting and making porcelain dolls. Her passion was her dogs, and she bred Dachshunds. She also enjoyed raising chickens.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Washam, and her son, Jimmy Dean Washam.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty Washam, and her son, Lynn Washam (Teresa); sisters, Terry Morris and Dianne Nieman; and many extended family members.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, April 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. Entombment will be on Monday, April 14, at 2 p.m. at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove.
