Carlous Joe Stewart, 86, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Maple Leaf Health Care.

Carlous was born in Iredell County on March 12, 1938, to the late Orin Avery Stewart and Addie Mitchell Stewart. He worked as a mechanic, and he enjoyed NASCAR racing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings, brothers, Harley Stewart, Rich Stewart, Paul Stewart, and Junior Stewart; and sisters, Viola Ellis, and Colene Gurley.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Lisa Stewart Troutman (Bradley); grandson, Austin Troutman; brother, Howard Stewart; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 8, at 3:30 p.m. in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. John Parks. A private family burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m.
