It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Claudette Meadows Stutts, 87, of Mooresville, N.C., who departed this life on January 23, 2025.
Born on December 17, 1937, in Iredell County, N.C., she was the cherished daughter of the late Claude McKinley Meadows and Mary Lee McLaughlin Meadows.
Claudette was a beloved figure in the Mooresville community, known for her vibrant spirit and generous heart. She was the founding owner of Stutts Marina, where she created fond memories and a welcoming atmosphere for friends and patrons alike. A dedicated member of Williamson’s Chapel United Methodist Church, she found joy in her faith and community service. As an active contributor to the Lake Norman Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, she tirelessly supported those around her.
Her life was marked by an infectious love for music and dancing, and she delighted in hosting cookouts that brought people together in laughter and camaraderie. Claudette had a remarkable ability to forge connections, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, Claudette was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Jack Donald Stutts Sr., and her sister, Ollie Meadows Melton.
She is survived by her children, Jack D. Stutts Jr. and wife Tiffany, and Lisa S. Franklin and husband Mike. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Margaret Meadows Foster and husband Tex; her cherished grandchildren, Kristin Capozzi and husband Nick, Samantha Stutts, Hayden Franklin, and Evan Franklin; her great-grandchildren, Ava and Jacob Capozzi; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.
A private Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at a later date, a gathering where family and friends will have the opportunity to pay tribute to her vibrant life and legacy.
