Danny Ray Marshburn, 59, of Mooresville, N.C., ascended to eternal peace on Saturday, February 15, 2025. Born on August 17, 1965, in Mecklenburg County to the late William Clarence Marshburn and Peggy Broom Marshburn, Danny was a dedicated husband, father, and friend who brought joy and a spirited energy to all who knew him.

Danny was a talented Shop Foreman in the racing industry, making his mark with renowned teams such as Hendrick Motorsports, Ernie Irvan Motorsports, Aiken Motorsports, Rudd Performance Motorsports, Robert Yates Racing, Dale Earnhardt Inc., and Stewart Haas Racing. His passion for racing was only rivaled by his love for cycling and the fellowship he found within his church community. Danny derived deep peace from cycling and cherished the time spent serving others alongside his church family. His warm-hearted nature and willingness to help will be remembered fondly by all whose lives he touched.

In addition to his father, Danny was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Glenn Marshburn, and sisters, Theresa Gale Marshburn Bradford and Linda Gale Marshburn Gant.

He leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife, Kimberly Marshburn; son, Michael Marshburn; stepchildren Stasia Giles and husband David, and Paula Willmon; and cherished grandchildren, Nathan Giles, Gabriel Giles, and Payton Lockhart. He is also survived by his mother, Peggy Broom Marshburn Williams, and her husband Jerry; brother, William Marshburn Jr., and his wife Diane; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Danny also leaves behind his best friend, Bryan Giffen (affectionately known as Giff), and his spiritual father, Wayne Stowe.

In celebration of Danny’s life, a Memorial Service will be held on February 24, 2025, at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory with love and laughter. Following the service, attendees will be welcome to greet the family from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Abundant Life Foursquare Church Crisis Fund, located at 119 Foursquare Road, Mooresville, NC 28115.

Danny Ray Marshburn’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved him, and he will be deeply missed, yet celebrated for the love and light he brought into this world.
