David Allen George, 69, of Taylorsville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Catawba Valley Medical Center. He was born April 19, 1955, in Detroit, Mich., the son of the late Paul Ross George and Ellen Louvada Harrington George.

David worked in the furniture industry for many years and was a member of Salem Lutheran Church. He loved animals. He was just a people person with a kind and caring heart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Scott George; sister, Wanda Faye George; brothers, Melvin, George, Edsel George, Neil George, and Danny George; and step-son, Jamie Edwards.

Those left to cherish and honor David’s memories include his children, Heather Lawrence (Arthur), and Scott George (Toni), all of Taylorsville; his step-children, Diane Hartness (Bradley) of Taylorsville, and Sandra Butts (David) of Texas; his grandchildren, Haley George, and Aleiyah Biddle; a number of step-grandchildren; his sisters, Audustine Barnes, and Mary Ellen Harrington; his sister, Debbie Hubbard (David); his brothers, Keith George (Mary Lynn), and Rickey George (Lori); and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025, in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. James Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4 until 5 p.m. prior to the service. Inurnment will be in the Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery at a later date.
