Donald George Armlin, 88, passed away on February 8, 2025, from complications from a fall. He was born May 5, 1936, in Fultonham, N.Y., to Flora Collins Armlin and Claude Armlin. On October 28, 1977, he married Marilyn Tornatore. They relocated to Statesville, N.C., from upstate New York in 1980. He was employed by the N.C. State Bridge Department for 17 years. Prior to that, he worked in construction in New York. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and traveling.

He leaves his wife of 47 years, Marilyn; as well as a daughter, Patricia Dodge of Central Square, N.Y., and a son, Donald Alexander of Canastota, N.Y.; granddaughters, Sara Dodge Friday (John Paul) of Wynantsville, N.Y., Rayonna Alexander and Kendra Alexander of Canastota, N.Y,; stepchildren, Cathleen Schmidt (Edward) of Dowagiac, Mich., Tracy Tornatore of Florida, Jacqueline Brown (Darryl) of Stony Point, N.C.; step-grandchildren, Wheeler, Hudson and Lennox Schmidt, Tara Snyder, Asia Johnson, Adaire Schwartz (Ben), and Gage Martin (Jackie); step-great-grandchildren, Finley Michael Tate, Beckham Winston Storms, Brody and Brantley Schwartz, Royce Schmidt and Reagan Schmidt, Hoyt Fletcher Orman, Blaine, Melody, Chace and Dante Snyder, and Carter Laine Martin. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Virginia Kingsley and Barbara Ely, brother-in-law Joseph Ely Jr., sister-in-law, Wanda Armlin; granddaughter, Blair Marie Dodge; son-in-law, Joseph Dodge; and a step-great-grandson, Addison Snyder.

Services will be held at St. Philip the Apostle Church, Statesville, on Thursday, February 13, 2025. Condolences to the family from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to 11 a.m. Mass.
