Donald Ray Parker Jr., 68, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, January 11, 2025, in Salisbury, N.C.

Don (Donnie) was born December 10, 1954, in Mooresville, N.C. He attended Mooresville Senior High School, where he enjoyed playing football with the Mooresville Blue Devils. He graduated in 1973, and he then attended Appalachian State University, where he studied business.

Starting in 1975, Don spent four years serving his country as a member of the U.S. Navy. After leaving the Navy, Don went to work for an airline at Charlotte Airport. Don’s career was very important to him; he took great pride in his work, always offering support to his work team. He retired after 40 years of exemplary service.

In his younger days, Don enjoyed spending time with his friends, watching sports and performing musically. He was a talented guitarist, and he enjoyed pop and rock music.

A gathering to celebrate Don’s life will be held on Thursday, January 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 17, at 2 p.m. at Glenwood Memorial Park, Mooresville.

Don was preceded in death by his father, Donald Ray Parker Sr.; his brother, Charles Edward Parker; and his stepbrother, Jeffrey Eugene Teeter.

Don is survived by his mother, Nancy Teeter; his stepfather, Eddie Teeter; his brother, Russell Parker; and his stepbrother, Doug Teeter. He is also survived by an aunt and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family has requested donations, in lieu of flowers, to the charity of your choice or to the American Heart Association.
