Donald Ray Smith, 74, of Troutman, N.C., passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville, N.C.

He was born on December 18, 1950, in Iredell County, N.C., to the late Ralph and Mable Nantz Smith. Mr. Smith was a retired custom home builder and a member of Ostwalt Baptist Church in Troutman. He enjoyed camping and fishing and won multiple fishing tournaments. He was a member of the Bass Fisherman Club for many years. He loved his family and spending time with them, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sylvia Atwell; and brothers, Erskin Smith and Larry Smith.

He is survived by his wife Patricia “Trish” Warren Smith; sons, Steven Smith and wife Kristen, and Travis Smith and wife Lynsey; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at Glenwood Memorial Park with Rev. Wesley Morris and Rev. Jordan Green officiating.
