Elma Jean “Nana” Morrison, 81, of Cleveland, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C. She was born September 7, 1943, in Ashe County, N.C., the daughter of the late Carl Barr and Mary Bell Eldreth Barr.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed raising a garden, loved her animals especially Snowball, and shopping. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Louis Morrison Sr.; her sisters, Peggy Duvall and Wilma Fuhr; and her daughters-in-law, Pam Morrison and Vivian Morrison.
Those left to cherish and honor her memories include her sons, Bobby Morrison Jr. of Stony Point, Anthony Morrison (Carol) of Vale, Marc Morrison (Monica) of Advance; Jody Morrison of Cleveland, and Mickey Morrison (Hollie) of Cleveland; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Helen Barr, Bobbie Blevins, Shirley Blevins, Carol “Rose” Hinckley, Linda Comptom, and Cristie Smith; her brothers, Dean Barr, Jack Barr, and Steve J. Barr; and numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2025, in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Alan Wheeler, Pastor Matt Cranford and Dr. James Smith will officiate. Burial will be at 12 noon on Monday, January 13, 2025 at Scenic Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from until 3 p.m. prior to the service.
