It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Emily Eudy Overcash, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Emily was called home to be with the Lord on December 31, 2024, at the age of 80. She was a woman who touched the lives of everyone she met with her warmth, kindness, and generous spirit.

Born to Winfred “Jack” Eudy and Nettie Tennant on August 6, 1944, Emily lived a life filled with love, faith, and dedication to those around her. An outgoing and vibrant individual, Emily was known for her unwavering love of the Lord and her deep sense of compassion for others. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, and her bright smile and positive energy could light up any room.

Emily had a special place in her heart for her pets, including her beloved birds, Holly and Noel, and her cherished cat, Cleo. She often found peace and joy in their company, and they were a constant source of comfort and companionship throughout her life.

A true culinary artist, Emily was renowned for her baking and cooking skills. Her kitchen was always filled with the delicious scents of homemade treats and meals, which she lovingly prepared for her family and friends. Whether it was a holiday feast, a simple meal, or a special dessert, Emily’s creations were always made with care and the desire to bring people together.

Traveling was another of Emily’s great passions. She and her devoted husband Jack shared many adventures together, exploring new places and making cherished memories with family along the way. Her love for travel was only surpassed by her love for those she held dear, and every journey was another opportunity to share in the joy of life.

Emily will be deeply missed by her children, Lisa Rummage Hricko (Jim) and Mark Rummage; her grandchildren, Wesley Mower and Erin Rummage Maynard (Scott); her great-grandchildren, Noah Maynard and Remi Mower; her brother, Steve Eudy (Kathy); her step-children, Lorie Overcash, Jaquelyn Clark (Kevin), Elizabeth Settlemyre (Joe), and Jennifer Holt (Mark); her step-grandchildren, Jared Settlemyre, Amber Allen (DJ), Dylan Palladino, Zach Meadows, Jack Palladino (Hannah), and Liam Palladino (Annabelle); her step-great-grandchildren, Jack and Hudson Allen; her caregivers, Crystal Arney (Jeff), Beverly Edwards, Johnnie Fox, Gaby Velasco, Marcela Cardenas, and Juliana Cardenas; and many extended family members, friends, and acquaintances whose lives she touched. She is also survived by her beloved pets, Holly, Noel, and Cleo.

A celebration of Emily’s life will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at The Heritage House in Mooresville, N.C., from 3 to 5 p.m. with a special memorial service starting at 3 p.m.
