Fairley M. “Spooky” Ikner, 84, of Olin, N.C., passed away February 10, 2025, following a brief illness. He was born in Scotland County on November 3, 1940, to the late Jesse Poteat Ikner and Lillian Cain Ikner.

Fairley was retired and attended New Hope Baptist Church of Hamptonville. He enjoyed gospel singing, preaching and reading his Bible, search word puzzles, and going out to eat.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Gene Ikner, and one nephew, Adrian Lee Johnson.

Survivors include one sister, Deborah Ikner of the home; one niece, Angel Daniels (James) of Statesville; one great niece, Sierra Massey (Matt) of Statesville; one great-great nephew, Sawyer Massey; and one great-great niece, Ariel Massey; cousins, Zeke and Kitty of Maxton; and special friends, Becky Tayse (Peanut) of Statesville.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, February 16, 2025, at New Hope Baptist Church of Hamptonville at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Bert Mathis will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:30 p.m. at the church. The family would like to thank Mary Ethel Sherrill, Harmony Nutrition Site, Meals On Wheels, and Gordon Hospice House for all their love and support through this difficult time.
